TPT Mega Science and Technology Projects Competition - 2023!
The Nation needs not only educated graduates, but youth with lateral, critical and design thinking. These qualities can be developed by providing platforms like project competitions to the students for exhibiting their talents.
Thiagarajar Polytechnic takes pride in conducting such competitions every year to kindle the minds of younger generations. Aptly, this year too, the State Level TPT-Mega Science and Technology Projects Competition 2023 was conducted on 11th and 12th Jan 2023 and TPT witnessed a colourful grand gathering of school students, exhibiting their innovative ideas as projects in the campus.
Students were allowed to present projects under seven different domains such as., IoT, Space Projects, Renewable Energy , Electronics in Agriculture, Smart City, Electric Vehicles and Robotics.
We received an overwhelming response and totally 580 projects were presented by 1200 students from more than 125 schools across the state. Also more than 5000 students of VI to XII standard from 48 schools visited the projects.
Initially Rs.1.00Lakh prize money was announced with First Prize of Rs.5000/-, Second Prize of Rs.3000/-, Third Prize of Rs.2000/- and two consolation prize of Rs.1000/- for each domain. On seeing the enthusiasm and the overwhelming response from the students and in order to motivate them, 24 Motivational Awards were introduced with a prize amount of Rs.1500/- increasing the prize amount from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakhs.
The award and certification function was conducted in TPT Alumni Auditorium on 12.01.2023, Thursday with a colourful cultural fest by our TPT and Sona Valliappa Public School students. Mr.S.Balachander IAS., Additional Collector ( DRDA), Salem was the Chief Guest and Mr.P.Balasubramani, Superintendent Engineer, TANGEDCO, was the Guest of Honour for the function. Totally 64 prizes worth Rs. 1.5 lakhs were presented to the winners in all the categories. We congratulate all the winners and appreciate all the students from various schools for their active and enthusiastic participation.
The good and positive vibes of the school students filled the entire TPT campus with an aura of knowledge and innovation.
