Thiagarajar Polytechnic College is one of the premier technical institutions in South India, started in 1958 by the Philanthropist Late Thiru.Karumuthu Thiagarajan and developed by the Former Chairman Late Thiru.M.S.Chockalingam.

In recognition of the excellent services for the past 54 years to the society and other infrastructural facilities such as buildings, the state-of-the-art laboratories, computing facilities, sports/games, hostels etc., the institution has been conferred with "The Best Polytechnic College Award" by the Government of Tamilnadu.

These laudable achievements have made the institution to reach the pinnacle of glory and the Polytechnic College has been morphed as the most respected institution in the country.

The commitment and the keen involvement of the present Chairman Thiru.C,Valliappa and Secretary Thiru.A.Dhirajlal have taken the institution to the unparalleled heights today.

The Principal Dr.V.Karthikeyan transforms the vision of the Management into reality by his innovative plans and deeds with zeal and enthusiasm.

At present, the college offers 9 Diploma Programmes, 1 Post-Diploma programme in various Engineering/Technology disciplines and houses nearly 2200 boys and girls students.
